Avatar: The Last Airbender #4 Waiting for Legend of Korra
ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTLEMNT:Opening post under construction,if you want to add some description let me know
#4 Avatar: The Last Airbender It is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. In 2010 it also becam a film.(A bit ****ty,if you ask my opinion) The three seasons were about the story of the last airbender alive,Aang and his group of friends who try to protect the world from the attack of one of the four nations that live there: the fire's one. This show has it all: action, humor, romance, and so much more. Characters; Aang The main protagonist.Cheerful 12 years old kid. The last of his people( the air benders) who got previously massacrated by the Fire nation.  Katara The first friend Aang meets. She lives in the South Pole and she's part of the water nation. The last waterbender of the south tribe. 14 years old motherly figure and kickasses.  Sokka Katara's twin brother. He's not a bender,but his strategies and cooperative spirit are essential to the team. Loves girls. Clumsy but fun.Absolutely hilarious. At first he doesn't like Aang so much.  Zuko Super loved by the fandom. 16 years old heir to the Fire nation's throne that got banished from his kingdom by his father. Obsessed by finding the avatar and taking him to his father so he can finally get back to home. His character progession is one of the most beautiful and original things I've ever watched on tv.  Toph Earthbender. She makes the first apparition in the second season. Sarcastic and funny,she always pushes herself over the limits successfully. Pure strenght.  Iroh Zuko's uncle and mentor. He is one of the most famous fire nation's general. He loves teas and calm.  Azula Zuko's younger and crazy sister. What's more to ask? One of the major antagonist of the series. First apparation on season two.  Momo and Appa The two mascottes of the team Aang. Momo is flying lemur. Appa is a flying bison. Lovely,especially when they're mad at each other. Legend of Korra; According to the Nickelodeon team finally this year probably in autumn the new Avatar series will start. In the meanwhile you can watch the trailer here 2010 Film; Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The film won loads of impressive awards,such as five Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Picture in 2011. Cast: Noah Ringe,Nicola Pelt,Jackson Rathbon,Dev Patel.  I've asked to a girl that makes wonderful gifs about Avatar on Tumblr if I can add her works here adding the link of the blog.I'm waiting for her answer. It's still a Work In Progress,I think I'll also add some quote. If some other fans show up I'll put their favourites eventually.But if they don't...well I'll choose them XD. __________________

That's interesting that you mentioned it won 5 ''Raspberry Awards''. Didn't know about that. What do you think critics didn't enjoy about the film?

Some of the actors came out as totally forced...the script was horrible also.The general quality of the photography was really low.
It could have been interested to watch but it turned out to be a massive flop. I think only the characters who played Aang and Katara were sufficient enough. Sokka was HORRIBLE. The actor is the same that played in Twilight one of the vampires I read. Zuko too. I have nothing against Dev Patel I think he is seriously talented I've been watching him since he was working on Skins. And he completely blew me off with Slumdog Millionaire. But I don't know,he wasn't really into Zuko.Probably due to the lack of good writing I presume he couldn't really connect with his character. And the writing is still the biggest problem.I think it would have been better having at least two films for season.It is diffucult trying to fit over 20 episodes in two hours. Even though the episodes are short. So the whole film felt terribly rushed and poor described. In the anime you could see the atmosphere of that world everywhere.In the film? Not really. It was a bit random. Also I think they should have used better special effect. I mean yeah it's easier to draw fire/water/air balls I can see it.But well if you decide to do such a film at least have a good special effect team,or don't do it at all.  __________________

TFTNT.
 I didn't think the film was that bad on the whole, but I agree that there were still a lot of issues, the writing being one of the biggest ones. And, yeah, that atmosphere definitely felt off. In terms of the effects, I thought the only part they were bad at was with earthbending. The fighting with the earthbenders seemed really slow and took away from any excitement there, but the other elements weren't too bad. __________________

Legend of Korra has been confirmed to air on April 14th at 10 am!
 I really didn't think it'd be airing that soon, that's so awesome!  And, yay for gifs! I'll look through them. __________________

Very interesting thread.
I love Avatar the Last Airbender, actually just finished up watching it again. Really excited for the Legend of Korra. This weekend on Korranation, they will be releasing the first two episodes since the fandom managed to get 100,000 likes and shares. Should check it out if you want a early peak! |
