I like the Killers because their lyrics touch on unusual subjects. Although they seem to frequently have some link with obsession! Think about it:

Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
Andy, You're A Star
Mr. Brightside

and probably others too! Except I can't think of them right now and I'm just too lazy to.

Ann: It's really not that big of a pit.
Leslie: We can do some of those things.

Midnight Show falls in the same vein of Jenny, Gwen. Those two songs are linked to a third we have never heard and probably will never hear.

Obession...Desperate deals with obsession as well. Oh Yeah by the Way is just freaking insane...abuse?

Does that song not reminds anyone esle of What She Said by The Smiths? At least the music, not the lyrics...

This is totally the wrong thread for this.

The murder trilogy, right? It's just that I haven't gotten around to seeing the lyrics for Midnight Show so I didn't think of it. Okay, I will.

Yeah it's kind of the wrong thread for it

Oh, and speaking of songs about obsession...

ALL THE PRETTY FACES!

I listened to about three different versions of the song today and I'm so excited to hear how Moulder and Flood mess with it! *squees*

Is this an unreleased song? In mean, technically, it is unreleased but we're all obsessed and of course have heard it...

I haven't heard it, actually, but I can safely say I'm not as obsessed as you all are...

Belle! You've heard different versions of it?! What? WHERE?! I've only heard the live ones we have.

Gwen If you get the chance to download it, I highly recommend it, it's a *****ing brilliant song (well of course it is, it's The Killers! ;D)

That's what I meant, the live versions...

If you listen to them, not only are the lyrucs different, but the music as well. In one version Ronnie goes hell anuts on the drums. Dave goes a bit more melodic with the guitar in another version. In this one version, Ronnie and Mark are so spot on with each other that it trips me out in ways unknown...

Well, I thought I'd post the When You Were Young lyrics so we could discuss Even though I haven't heard the full version yet I got these from TKN...

When You Were Young
You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now- here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young

Can we climb this mountain
I don't know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
Let's take it easy
Easy now, watch it go

We're burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes and see the place where you Used to live
When you were young

They say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet
You don't have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now- here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young
When you were young

I said he doesn't look a thing like Jesus
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But more than you'll ever know

Something about the end of the song is relly haunting when you listen to it. i don't know if it's the repeated use of Jesus, but the end kills me.

Ah, the angst!!!
