This is a thread that was started on the night of last season's finale. Some of us posters here used to be Narcos and some weren't, but we all have one thing in common now....our unappreciation for Rory/Dean as a couple. If you are a fan of this couple, please don't post here, because you won't like a lot of what we will be saying.

This is not a thread to bash Alexis Bledel or Jared Padalecki. We reserve our loathing for Rory and Dean, the Cheaters of Stars Hollow. Also, please do not bash any of your fellow posters. Let's be kind as we vent about our disdain for this couple.


Recap of the abominable story so far...and it's continuing.....ew











Reasons Why We Loathe Dean/Rory:

1. Because Dean did cheat and Rory was cheating with him.
2. Because they have no morals.
3. Because they're adulterers.
4. Because they make us nauseated.
5. Because they make us hurl.
6. Because they ruined Lorelai's big night at the inn and with Luke.
7. Because Lorelai did not raise Rory "to be the kind of girl who sleeps with someone else's husband."
8. Because it's all about ratings, and not the storytelling.
9. Because Lorelai was so disappointed.
10. Because Rory used to be a role model.
11. Because Lindsey is innocent in this whole mess.
12. Because Dean married Lindsey knowing that he still loved Rory.
13. Because they're still sneaking around.
14. Because they met in a dark alley after Lindsey asked her husband not to speak to Rory again.
15. Because Rory essentially blamed Lorelai by bringing up Christopher.
16. Because he took off his wedding ring before they had sex.
17. Because he has his wedding ring on while he's about to kiss Rory.
18. Because Rory rejected him and now she thinks she owns him.
19. Because from the beginning, Emily was right about Dean/Rory.
20. Because Lorelai trusted Dean.
21. Because Lorelai trusted her daughter.
22. Because Lorelai is a great mother and she doesn't deserve this.
23. Because this atrocious storyline has distorted the original concept of the show.
24. Because Rory and Dean are both hypocrites.
25. Because Lorelai's dreams were finally coming true, and now she has to deal with her daughter's adultery.
26. Because for some of us, this "storyline" has ruined season 1 D/R.
27. Because we want Lorelai to get out the dull hedge clippers.
28. Because nothing good can come out of this affair.
29. Because Lorelai understands the situation perfectly and so do we.
30. Because he's not "Rory's Dean"; he's "Lindsey's Dean".
31. Because Rory is the Other Woman..
32. Because they suck and so does this storyline.
33. Because this couple had closure back in season 3.

I hate how Dean treated Lindsey in the premiere. He obviously knew that Rory had called (checked the number on the received calls log) and he was either angry at himself and taking it out on his wife (which is bad enough) or he was actually angry at her for ANSWERING a RINGING telephone. Either way he's a total assh0le. And after how he yelled at her, she still wants to cook him dinner? I feel bad for Lindsey, but c'mon -- let the loser starve!

I don't know what thread this was on, but notice the
similarities between TDDR and R&R/SGTDM? He wants both the
Donna Reed wife and the Rory (non-Donna Reed type) typer
person. Make up your freakin' mind, already!!! Dean can't

I always wanted to yell at Rory for giving into his Donna Reed fantasy. She dares to mock the mindless housewife image and he gets mad at her like she's thinking that way just out of training by her mother, like she doesn't have a mind of her own, while he's trying to train her to not have a mind of her own but think like HIM!!!! Sneaky hypocrite.

Wow actually never thought of that but I agree. Doesn't surprise me though. Dean's always been a hypocritical jerk/asshead/moron/insert any other negative word here.

I don't think I've ever seen a more controlling TV relationship... well, except for maybe Dawson/Joey but it totally disgusts me how Dean expects both Rory and Lindsay to submit to his rudeness and dominance. He's a total idiot.

I never really watched Dawson's Creek, but from the little bits I tuned in on, I was always amazed and appalled at how Dawson dared to hold Pacey and Joey in contempt for getting together a year after HE dumped Joey like those two were doing something wrong and owed him something. Dumbass.

But, yeah, the fact that I used to be an avid GG girl and caught a good view of the ongoings makes Dean all the much worse.

Oh man, don't get me started on Dean's preferences of women.

Did it seem like he cared too much about Rory's opinion when he was moving that shelf into her dorm room and he told her about dropping out of school to make money? I think that's where there was some definate weirdness between them. Sorry, I don't really know where I'm going with this. I just think Dean needs to drive off the nearest cliff.

I don't hate Dean. He is young and made a terrible mistake. I think he should be responsible and deal with his marriage. I think he has some major faults, but I just don't hate him.

I do hate Rory and Dean as a couple. I think they are very dysfuctional. I think what they did is wrong and they both should suffer for this transgression and begin by staying as far away from each other as possible. I hope that Rory breaks up with Dean and Lindsay doesn't want anything to do with him and he goes away.

Random unappreciation thought of the day. Is there any parallels between Rory going after a taken Dean and her removing a taken Jess off of Shane (the dimwitted queen of bad makeup and hair)?

We actually get to see a little bit of Lindsay's reaction. Course given how much the writers detested the character you probably only would've seen Shane drool anyway.

Which of course leads to the question... which taken guy will Rory go for next. Luke? Asher? Jackson? PapaKim? Kirk? And if it's that guy they casted.. which blonde will be cast as his temporary girlfriend/wife?

Answer #1: Definitely PapaKim. I've just always pictured Mrs. Kim with a super sexy, irresistable guy.

Answer #2: Hilary Duff. It just seems like time. Or one of the Olsen twins...The WB is pretty fond of them.

Now, I'm totally in agreement with most of the angry anti-Rory stuff of late, but I didn't really see a sign of her pursuing Jess while he was with Shane. Plus, he didn't take the Shane thing seriously. Plus, anyway, at least he was smart and broke it off with Shane before actually doing anything.

But, for the hell of it, let's say Kirk. I'd really love to see a Rory/Lulu face-off.

I know I'm almost a week late, but how awful was the episode. Poor, poor, Lindsey. She deserves so much better than Dean. She didn't do anything, but try and make him comfortable and happy. It kills me they made Dean and Rory such selfish people. I always knew Dean was, but cheating is wrong and Rory, well she became a bit of a skank - a home wrecker. I would love to see a Rory/Lindsey scene.
