YA Fashion Thread - How has YA affected your taste in fashion?

Did you start wearing things only because the characters wore them on the show? Did you cut your hair like Jake's and walk around dressed up as a guy? Did you want a pastel pink dress just like Jake's and the blue dress Bella wore in "Winning isn't Everything"? Who went out and bought a black satin bra?

I personally didn't change my taste in fashion at all, or bought something only because it was on the show. However, the show made me realise that you can be different, not a 'girly girl', and still look beautiful. I was able to be true to myself, and be myself, and maybe wear clothes that aren't 'cool', but that I like anyway.
I thought the clothes on the show were very beautiful (especially Jake's pastel pink dress ), and they were perfect for the individual characters. Bella wore jeans and a top, Will had his red shirt , and Jake obviously had to dress up like a guy. But still, the actors seemed to be very comfortable in their clothes.

What do you think?

YA did not change my style in fashion, I wouldn't take tips of them anyway But it was nice to see them dressed in just plain jeans and vest tops or T shirts with maybe a splash of oil or grime

I am totally into the androgynous boy look anyway, so Jake was straight up my alley. I really wanted her pilot!hair.

Black satin bra was a must.

I also tried the red skivvy/olive green shirt on top combo (from Kiss and Tell) but it didn't look good on me at all.

i didn't change the way i dressed, that's really not something YA would really have a major effect on, at least for me(but if i was a guy, i'd get the ryder look or his walk)...i did however, dream of being somewhat androgynous...

I briefly thought about getting my hair cut really short and then getting a perm, but then realised I'd look absolutely hideous.

I reckon Bella had a really nice style. Casual, but she had such a nice figure that everything just looked great. And the occasions when she did dress up were just...

I totally agree about Bella. She was beautiful as 'the townie' with jeans and a shirt, but she was also very beautiful in Cinderbella and WiE. I really loved her dress in WiE.

What about Will? Was it just me or did he really wear a red shirt in 99% of his scenes?

Hmm... red and blue... nice contrasts and also pretty complementary. Maybe the script writers were sneakily trying to hint at something...

I like the way you're thinking.

But, seriously...maybe Will's red shirts were just meant to show that he doesn't own thousands of shirts because he's not as rich as the other students, and that he has to wear one piece of clothing more than one time during the show? I just thought of this today, and it does sound pretty logical...but at the same time, it sounds totally stupid. What do you think?

Hmm. I haven't thought about that before, but I guess that's possible...

Oh! Do you know what I just thought of, though? Red is the colour for most liberal political parties, left-wingers acting more for the poor people; whereas blue is more for conservative, right-wing parties acting for the rich.

Overanalysing, obviously.

Ah! thats very True, that would make the parties here in the UK... Conservatives are represented by the blue colour who reflect the views on the middle class, and the Labour party is more in favour with the Working class good analysis there

I guess thats possible Anja

Of course we're over-analyzing, but it could be true. It could be what Steve Antin was thinking about while he decided that Will would wear red, and Scout blue.

And it explains why the New Rawley baseball team is called The Reds...

Really? I didn't even remember that...haven't watched the first 4 episodes enough. But, see, it's just another proof for our theory. But why is Bella's car blue, and Ryder's car is red?
