Monica Young/Marguerite Monreau-Appreciation: She's too hot to be a teacher

from abc.com

Monica Young on the ABC Television Network's life as we know it

A native Californian, Marguerite Moreau was born in Riverside and earned her big break at the age of 15 when she was cast in Disney’s feature film franchise, The Mighty Ducks. In 1993 she received a Young Artist Nomination for her performance. She went on to graduate from Vassar College with a degree in political science, while building a resume that spotlights a talented and varied range on the acting canvas.

Currently Moreau stars in Jane Weinstock’s feature film, Easy, which premiered at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival and was later featured at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Her additional screen credits include Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, Wag the Dog, Mighty Joe Young, Wet Hot American Summer, Queen of the Damned and Runaway Jury.

I remember seeing her in Queen of the Damned. That movie is one of my guilty pleasure so it's cool to see her again.

I've been a fan of Marguerite Moreau's for a long, long time. Since I saw the first Mighty Ducks movie in the theater. I always loved Connie and Guy together. Anyway, I thought she was great on the show tonight, and it's good to see her as a regular on a TV show. Does anyone know how old she's supposed to be on Life As We Know It?

Here is some information on her character from abc.com. Monica is 23. I've watched Monreau in Firestarter:Rekindled, Queen of the Dammed, and of course Mighty Ducks.

Quote:
NAME: Monica Young

AGE: 23

DO YOU HAVE A BEST FRIEND? Not really, had one in college but we lost touch.

DO YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND? DESCRIBE HIM/HER. Not at the moment.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL? Seeing as how I'm a high school English teacher...

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? I've been an avid reader since I was a girl. Given the chance, I'd love to travel, but you try doing that on a teachers salary.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK? No one else ever seems to love it, but - The Scarlet Letter. The characters' lies and guilt are woven together so well that it's almost romantic.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE? Annie Hall. Love it.

DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST KISS. Would you believe it wasn't until my freshman year of college? The guy who kissed me, Toby, was really drunk, and it was slobbery and gross. I was just glad to have finally kissed someone.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? Hopefully, I'll be married? Financially independent. Married to a handsome, smart, sensitive guy who likes to stay up late talking… who shares the same dreams and goals.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT? My first kiss was pretty bad - it was in front of a lot of people. There was another time - also in college - where I dropped my tray in the dining hall. The food went everywhere, and it seemed like everyone laughed forever.

I first saw her in Queen of the Damned and in firestarter 2. She was very good in both of them.

Thanks for posting the information on Ms. Young, Subject! I still haven't seen Queen of the Damned. Would anyone recommend it?

Hey I thought I'd drop by this thread because I just now realized Marguerite Monreau was in "Life As We Know It". I actually never realized she was the same person in all the characters I liked. I just thought she looked familiar. I've only seen her in Mighty Ducks, Firestarter Rekindled, and Queen of the Damned, but I hope I can start seeing more of her. Yeah... by the way I'm Maxi. Ok it's three in the morning and I'm brain-fried. G'night.

She's been one of my favorite actresses for awhile and it is great to see her on tv (like someone already said). Does anyone remember her teensy role as a reporter on Smallville? She had great chemistry with Michael Rosenbaum. I always wished theyed bring her back. Anyway she's got two new movies, both indies out or coming out. Off The Lip is a surfing movie where she plays a young magazine reporter sent to Hawaii to interview an elusive surf champ. I think it should be out now on dvd. Easy is a romantic comedy that Marg plays the lead in. I think it will be out on dvd soon too.

barstr7 -Thanks for the information. I'll have to keep an eye out for those. theotherfan -I agree, she is gorgeous.

I really love Monica but she has some issues. She needs to be a little more confident with herself. When she saw that Ben and Sue had some chemistry she ranaway from their relationship. Granted it wasn't the only reason she pulled away but it was a starting point. I don't think that she has enough faith in their relationship. While she shouldn't it won't last. Never was going to. It's just one of those relationships that you know will fail but it's just the sweetest thing while it is happening.

I loved her in The Mighty Ducks movies and Queen of The Damned. I think she is beautiful and talented except I don't really like this character. Sleeping with a 16 year old high school boy who is your student? NO. Changing another students grade cause you are jealous of their relationship. NO.

I think her character brings excitement to the show. And I don't think of reality I think of it as tv and that anything can happen.

I rented Firestarter 2: Rekindled. I was very surprised it was actually a very good movie. I might even rent the original with Drew Barrymoore.
