So... Good Talk discussion (New episode~March 1st, 2005)
Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) return from their second honeymoon and Rory (Alexis Bledel) attends the customary Friday night dinner, but an angry Lorelai (Lauren Graham) refuses to see or speak to Emily. Rory surprises everyone with a rare outburst at her grandmother for interfering in Lorelai's love life. Miserable without Lorelai, Luke's (Scott Patterson) dark mood causes him to burn the food and throw any customers who complain out the door of the diner. Emily pays an unexpected visit to the diner to talk to Luke. Meanwhile, Lane (Keiko Agena) is horrified when she realizes that her mother has more influence over her than she thought.
Melissa McCarthy and Sean Gunn also star. The episode was written by Lisa Randolph and directed by Jamie Babbit. Courtesy: thewb.com |

I loved this episode. I felt so bad for Luke when he was just moping around the diner and being rude to all his customers. You could tell how much he was hurting over Lorelai. Scott did a great job with that. I LOVED the end. I was so happy that he actually went to Lorelai after his talk with Emily. I can't wait for next week.

My thoughts about this episode
The diner scene with Rory and her grand parents is perfect and well played. We see that Rory is sad for her mom and sad for Luke; she considers Luke as a member as her family and I think that's important for the future The scene between Luke and Emily is really beautiful too. I don't hate her anymore. Of course she still doesn't accept Luke but she believes that Lorelai 's hapiness is more important and it's a beautiful evolution for her. Some have said that Luke was waiting for Emily's approbation to go back with Lorelai; I don't think so. I think that he just heard something he needed to know: Lorelai wants him and cut off her family for him. The kiss: OMG, AMAZING. It's both sweet and full of anger and frustration. I like the fact that Luke doesn't say anything, go in her house and kiss her. I really wanted a ILY but finally I think it's better that way. We'll have our talk later. We can see that they don't need to talk to understand each other. I should add that english is not my first language, so I'm sorry if there are mistakes; plus it's 10 am here and, I'm not really a morning person __________________

Holy I'm going to use up some of my bandwidth (stupid basic dsl) and download the episode to go more in-depth on my thoughts of the episode. That kiss made me forget basically everything else.

I loved the kiss at the end. Unfortunately less than 20 seconds, from a distance, with bad editing. Would've liked a closer shot but the body language said it all.

Emily and Kirk in the same room... explosive. I hated Emily referred to her agreement with Rory as a contract. Hello Emily, Rory is your granddaughter... Overall a really good episode! P.S. When Luke threw that big guy out of dinner I was... wow, that SP is built solid. Huh I guess lifting weights finally pay off! |

-Loved Lorelai and Rory's phone conversation. Poor Rory, I know what it's like being a poor student. Not many people don't. It's harsh.
-You gotta love Scott's back. Great first shot post-song -Zach and Lane. So cute. -Poor Luke - Zach "His eyes...red..like the fires of Mordor" - Kirk! -Luke kicked the oven door so hard it fell off, oh my God- that'sd awesome! -Sookie's insane, but you gotta love her, -Lorelai seems a little "uncomfortable with the flirting to get something" bit -Emily/Lorelai: Great! Good for Lorelai for not backing down -Finally!@ I finally found out what movie it is that Lorelai has "netflixed" and was watching at the end. -Hey! That means I'm pathetic. Sookie called my kind "pathetic" -Oh, I so want that coffee Rory originally orders. Did she say "D'oh" when she dropped the change? -I'm not really into Rory/Logan, but he did get her away in the end. -Why wouldn't Bob Hope get into heaven? -Rory and her "implied dibs" In my book, implied dibs don't exist -Ooh, new word combo! New word combo! Sign-holder-upper (nice) -Hmm, I love that Rory loves Luke and Lorelai enough but she's more wooden than Canada's $5 coin (a little Canadian humour there for you which I'll explain if people want to know what I'm talking about). -Hmm, knowing me that digital camera is too technical for me. (Sorry, I'm in a self-loathing mood) -"I'm so hot I may hit on myself tonight" --Wow, what a yelling match. You gotta love that Rory is sticking up for Lorelai (and Luke) -"egghead"???? -Wow, I couldn't talk to my mother about a relationship with a guy I'm in. It's a bit too personal for me. -I want a rumball!!!! I'm so jealous. I should make some. Scary seeing how I don't cook. -Aww, Richard cares about his family, it's a nice change from when he refused to back down from suing Jason even if it meant losing his family. -Oh my God, LG sounds so much like this Canadian actress. It's spooky, I'm listening (but not watching) and the sound of her voice. I was like did they replace LG? Spooky -I feel I should say something about Lorelai asking Richard about insurance -Aww, Lorelai saved the boat. -Kirk is so funny. - That big guy being thrown out. Ooh boy - Tiger Woods...Yeah... -I'm going to agree with Rory "Poor sad luke" -I'd so love to have Rory's job taking inventory in the bookstore -Is there such a thing as "one too many garden gnomes"? I love garden gnomes. -Maybe Lorelai and Richard will grow closer because of this fight between Lorelai and Emily. I'd love to see this, they haven't delved into that particular relationship enough, in my opinion. -What's woosabi? -Poor Lane, Poor Zach. The one thing that Mrs. Kim instilled in Lane. *shakes head* -"After what?" That's hilarious. Just as "ohmygod. You want to have sex!" -Emily sure has some nerve, and that "incapable of judging of what is right and what is wrong" is making me cringe. *facepalm* -"Emily, "cause you're the favourite" I love Kelly Bishop -Who played Donna on 90210? Jennie Garth or Tori Spelling? Books are sacred. -I love Lane freaking out on Mrs. Kim like that. -So what happens with the job Rory? Huh? Huh? I'd love to leave my responsibilities like that. I don't care if it's a temporary job, it's still a job. -I've always loved that blatent WB placement -Kirk and Emily in the same room, that's awesome! in fact awesome possum -I love Emily's speech at the end of the episode. Bravo KB! Bravo! -That song Judy Garland is singing...how fitting was it? -Wow. Wow. Wow. I love that kiss. It just reminded me of the old movies. Words are needed, sure. But right then the kiss was most important. It's proof that they're both in. out of 5 aweosme possums. __________________
